Keeping safe on Bonfire Night

Remember, remember the 5th of November, Gunpowder, treason and plot. As we celebrate Bonfire night, we want all our residents to be safe, weather that's at home or attending an organised event.

Below you'll find key safety tips and laws regarding using and buying fireworks.

On Bonfire Night fire works can be used in the UK anytime from 7am to midnight

Enfield Council prohibits bonfires and firework displays from being held on housing estates

It's an offence to throw or set off any firework in or into any highway, street thoroughfare or public space

Only buy fireworks from licensed sellers and follow instructions carefully

Keep fireworks away from buildings, trees, and vehicles

Never return to a lit firework

Never use petrol or other flammable liquids to start a bonfire

keep a bucket of water or hose nearby

If you see anything unsafe or need assistance you can contact us on 101, if it's an emergency dial 999.
